The idea for leisure-connexions was born over a year ago by two lifelong friends - Elizabeth and Tina .
Liz
Liz is happily married with two sons. Leaving school at 15, Liz trained as a hairdresser and spent many years working at Selfridges in London before meeting her husband (an Australian), and settling down to raise a family. After back and knee surgery, Liz was forced to give up the racquet sports she enjoyed so much in favour of swimming and the gym. However, a chance introduction to the world of dancing and Liz hasn't looked back -realising that this sport is a great way to stay fit, have fun and meet new people.
Tina
Tina is divorced with two sons and a daughter . As a single parent, Tina ran her own company and lived in the U.S.A. for many years, but the pull of England's green and pleasant land eventually proved too much and Tina headed home. Having stayed in close contact with Liz despite separation by the Atlantic, Tina promptly signed up to dance class upon her return to the UK and hasn't missed one since!
It was out of this mutual love of dancing, those that they met on the way and from speaking to countless people from the ages of 20 all the way to 80, that Tina and Liz realised the potential for leisure-connexions. There are so many men and women out there that have a need for like minded people with whom to enjoy a range of activities - be it dancing, skiing, playing cards or even paragliding!
